Description

The practice of the nursing profession helps to promote, protect and improve the health, safety and well-being of the population, to prevent illnesses and their consequences, and to support the sustainability of the health system. These are the aims behind the Bachelor's Degree in Nursing taught on the three campuses of the Universidade de Vigo.

Applicant profile

It is recommended that students wishing to take this degree have a helpful attitude towards people, a holistic outlook that allows them to relate all the dimensions of the human being, and a suitable disposition for teamwork, for continuous, reflective and critical study, for constant adaptation to change and for handling situations involving a heavy physical and emotional load. Responsibility, balance, personal maturity and good health are also required. In addition, the following would be advisable:

  • Good oral expression in Spanish and Galician
  • Capacity for analysis
  • Capacity for synthesis
  • Leadership ability
  • Ability to search for bibliographic sources
  • Awareness of the need for lifelong continuing education
  • Sufficient knowledge of biology, statistics, physics and chemistry
  • Reading comprehension
  • Basic computer skills (user level)
  • Ability to read and write in English

Access and admission

  • Baccalaureate with the university entrance exam (PAU) passed
